365 Days
8 days ago, I started a 365 Days Flickr project—1 self-portrait per day for an entire year.
Why am I doing this?
1. I want to take more photos of the world around me but I’m not in the habit of carrying my camera with me at all times. Having to take a self-portrait each day reminds me to keep the camera nearby every day.
2. I’ve had a hell of a year (July 2007 to present to be precise). 2008 goes on record as being the most difficult in my life as my health was taken from me in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Now that I’m finally on the rebound, I want to document the year ahead.
3. I’m behind the camera for most of our family photos—mostly because I don’t like having my picture taken. I’ll be over that little idiosyncrasy in no time with this project.
4. There’s one final reason...but it’s mine and I’m not sharing. So there.
You can view my 365 Days set on Flickr or if you’re an RSS junkie like me, you can follow along in your favourite feed reader. I love Google Reader but FeedDemon and NetNewsWire are both excellent products.
