Louisiana Flair beignets

Beignets with blueberry sauce and strong coffee. What a great start to the day.

A big thank you to Nate at Louisiana Flair for cooking up some of his finest this morning and another to Paul and Veron for getting the word out.

On my way in, I ran into none other than Paul Hammond. We chatted a bit about Richmond, the media, and of course, the beignets.

On my way out, I chatted with Veronica. And rumor has it that Bookstore Piet was there too (sorry I missed you Piet).

Hopefully Nate will continue the Wednesday tradition.

  1. The beignets were sooooooooo good - perfect actually. I got 6 pieces to go. And they were still hot when I got it back to the office to force feed some of my co-workers. I myself ate two whole ones.

  2. You made it back to the office without eating all of them?

10 points to veron for having serious willpower.

  3. It took all my will power. The aroma of fried dough was driving me crazy all the way back to the office (much like when I order one of his oyster po-boys)

  4. I’m seriously bummed that the sauce was blueberry.  That is both mine and Finn’s favourite.  I didn’t feel like hosing down a 3-year-old that early in the day and shoved it off to the side.

Perhaps we’ll see you all next week.

  5. Tripp, the secret is to stuff yourself first, then head back to the office.  Like you didn’t know.

Piet, more specifically, Mississippi Blueberry Sauce.  Don’t feel bad.  He’ll make more.

Veron, there were some seriously happy people in my office too.  I expect there to be a serious attendance problem next Wednesday.

Seek the bloggers table in the corner.

  6. Muffalattas! Gumbo! Crawfish etouffee! Here I come! :o)
