After months of not being able to muster the energy to do much of anything, I finally had a breakthrough this weekend. The meds, a hearty cocktail of steroids, more ibuprofen than an elephant should take and a few other tasty treats, seem to finally be working.
Naturally, I celebrated by hitting the garden.
After clearing 4 months worth of weeds out of one of my beds (they’re a sad sight), I planted about 60 cloves of a hardneck Italian garlic that we’ve grown before.
I love watching the sprouts emerge, growing in the spring and then filling the bed into the summer. Just in time to pick some basil and harvest tomatoes for sauce.
It seems I wasn’t the only one enjoying the garden this weekend either.
Head on over to Garden of Words to read about John’s broccoli adventures.
